Background: Derek was born on February 9, 1993 in Durango, Colorado. Derek’s entire family consisted of earth controllers, which is not something that happens very often. When he was ten, he learned about what people trying to expose us are capable of doing. They murdered everyone in his family, except for him, when no one would show what they could do. He was a late bloomer, and he hadn’t started showing his powers yet, so the people let him live. Greenwood scouts learned what had happened to his family and brought him to Greenwood. Even though he hadn’t showed any powers, everyone knew he would. They were right. At age fourteen he started showing the ability to control earth.Appearance: Derek is an African American guy who stands taller than most at six foot three inches and has a muscular build. Derek has short, slightly curly dark hair that matches his dark eyes that pierce right through your sole and seem like they can read all of your hearts desires.
Personality: Derek is a very creative individual, loving to draw or write during a lot of his free time. Derek’s not particularly outgoing; he pretty much only talk to people when they talk to him first. Derek gets offended easily, and takes things that are said to or about him much more seriously than they were meant to be taken. Derek tends to overreact to things and act impulsively, and he often regrets things that he does. Derek always try to right his wrongs, but it’s usually too late. Derek doesn’t have a lot of friends, but of the friends he has, he gets along with them well.
